Research Highlight


An intensification of atmospheric CO2 concentrations due to the surface temperature extremes in India

The CO2 concentration is seen to be elevated by 2 to 3 ppm during heatwave conditions. The impact of extreme temperature on the biospheric sink capability in the carbon cycle, leading to an increase in the atmospheric CO2 concentration is a significant outcome of this study [Gupta et al. 2021]
